Getting married is a serious decision, a major
rite of passage that changes lives forever. Yet the adjustments
and transitions are so complicated and diverse that 65% of today's
marriages don't last. This calls for careful preparation and
thoughtful discussion to bring growth, maturity and understanding
to the situation. Any healthy relationship takes continuous work.
We soon learn to realize responsibility for everything we do. We
learn how to resolve issues. We learn the value of humor. And we
seek to understand the feelings, thoughts and needs of our
partner. In all, we are concerned for his/her safety, peace and
